Barley Pub, Belleville

Rating 4.2

Recommend by local a resident as a good place to get a meal at a reasonable price.  That is exactly what we found.

Pleasant environment.  Moderately crowded when we arrived packed by the time we left.  Although the bar may be a focal point, it is definitely a family friendly  restaurant.  Several families had young children.

One waitress, occasionally assisted by the bartender handled the entire dining room.  She did a great job, but seemed unsure of what came with what.  We ordered a special that was served with fries, but were charged the normal menu price.  Normally I would have requested the adjustment, but she was working so hard I couldn't bring myself to ask.  We just paid the difference as I doubt being short staffed was hér choice.

Many of the menu items are below minimum wage.

 Grilled chicken panini special

 Fish Platter
 Cole slaw, delicious
