Hopenhagen Lavender Festival & Hopenhagen Farm, Copenhagen NY

Lavender Festival

The festival was an incredibly well run event, held July 7th, 2018. I would not have guessed this was the first one.  I hope they make it annual event.

Parking in an open field was well organized.
The $2 admission fee could be paid at either end of the field.  Once inside I was exposed to all things lavender and an interesting assortment of vendors.

The spacious grounds with manicured gardens always provided pleasant sights and smells.  The vendors were laid out in a way that provided an easy flow.

The barn is a small museum of agriculture items.

The total price for the event depended on what items were purchased or the activities chosen.  It was possible to have a great time on a minimum wage budget.  It was also possible to spend hundreds of dollars.

Optional activities included a lavendar themed paint and sip held in the tea room, wine tasting and making historical lavender tassies.

One of the most popular activities was the $6 cut your own lavendar.

The store was crowded but worth the line.  I was able to purchase wine and tea for gifts.

From the multiple food and beverage vendors I selected a lavendar cupcake from the tea room and a lavendar sundae from Old Mill Ice Cream. Both excellent and worth the price.  It's hard to describe how delicious the lavender syrup on the sundae is.  The woman who waited on me didn't know if the sundae was going to be added to the regular menu.  Pitty if it is not.  I believe the syrup is available for purchase in the gift shop.

The store is open Friday and Saturday.  It was nice to go back without the crowds to enjoy the lovely little gift shop.  The tea room can be booked for a formal tea with a 10 person minimum.  I believe it's also available as an event venue.

U-pick Lavender is available until they are done harvesting.
