American Maple Museum, Crogan, NY

An interesting local Museum devote to the production of maple syrup. A Solid 4 stars. You can definitely attend for minimum wage. Admission is $5 for adults or $10 for a family, which I believe consists of two adults and up to four children. The museum is built in an old school house and contains 3 floors of maple memorabilia.  Admission is free for two special weekends a year in the spring. In early spring when the days are warm in the nights are still freezing the maple sap starts flowing. Local sugar bushes open for tours and often provide samples of fresh maple syrup. The museum joins the fun  by offering free admission and hosting a marvelous pancake breakfast. The 2018 breakfast price was $10, all you all you can eat.

A visit to the museum would not be complete without a stop in the little Museum Store.  They offer Maple themed gifts as well as maple flavored items and of course locally produced fresh maple syrup.

Still a good value, the 2018 price is $10 up from $9 in 2017. All you can eat pancakes, applesauce, and Crogan sausage all topped with real maple syrup. Try the maple coffee.
