Cracker Barrel Watertown

Chain restaurant.  Decent food for a decent price.  Possible to get a full meal of reasonable proportions for under $10.  Most of the entrees are served with choice of 2 tastey sides and corn bread or biscuit.  Attached gift shop has a nice assortment of candy, toys and gifts.  You never know what you will find.  Some items are very pricey, but frequent sales on seasonal items make them affordable.

Update 2021

It is still possible to get a fair reasonably priced meal.  The plates and the portions seem smaller.  Instead of the basket of biscuits and muffins, they ask you which one you would prefer and bring you one.

 Fried Apples

Chicken and Dumplings with Sweet Potato

Maple Glazed Chicken, under $12.

Biscuits and Jam

Pot Roast,a fun choice because it served in a miniature dutch oven.

Feb 2022
The first time I was disappointed in the food and the service. I just wanted dessert, so I ordered the
chocolate Coca-Cola cake. At the last minute I a squash casserole featured under side dishes so I decided I would order that so I would have something to eat while others had their meal.   Within minutes, before anyone else had been served, he brought out the warmed chocolate cake with a small scoop of ice cream  some people that ordered breakfast and some people had ordered lunch was the only one who had already ordered dessert. We all look quizzically  when the cake arrived.  The waiter said I'm bringing this now so the ice cream doesn't melt.  I have ordered appetizers, side dishes, and desserts in place of meals before.  Usually servers will ask if there's any confusion about when you would like the item served.  I knew the other people would be unlikely to order dessert especially the people eating breakfast.  I would have been fine with him bringing everything out together.

The small piece of cake stale.  They warmed it, which caused the icing melt.  Definitely not worth the money.

Squash casserole, $3.99  or $1.99 upcharge if you substitute it for a side that comes with a meal.    It was tasty, but served in a saucer that is more like a dipping sauce dish.  Two of us ordered it  and had the same opinion, tasty but not worth $4.

The bacon is 1/2 piece just for prospective to show size

Pot Pie, a much better choice.
