Jean's Beans, Watertown

A cafeteria style takeout restaurant.  Very good but a bit pricey.  They do offer lunch specials.  They sell hand breaded deep fried fish. Select the piece of fish and then order anything else that needs to be fried, French fries, clams, shrimp ect.  While the fish cooks, side dishes which are priced per pound can be selected from a hot and cold serving line.   Round out the meal with some house made bread or bakery items.   We ordered Fish, clams and a few sides totaling over $40.  We had enough for 2 dinners and 2 lunches making it possible to get a meal for minimum wage.

Schuler's, Watertown

Every neighborhood should have a restaurant like Schuler's.  It has been a neighborhood staple for generations.  Name has changed. Ownership has changed.  Decor may have changed but not enough for anyone to really notice.   Menu still features many of the old favorites. Many choices are less than minimum wage making it a reasonable choice.  The barbecue sandwiches are legendary.  Cornbread muffins.  Fish Fry with a side of Macaroni and Cheese  Coleslaw

7-Eleven, Bradley St. Watertown

Decent option for a convenience store pizza.  Nice little convenience store.  7-11 was having a special promotion on pizza, so we thought it would be a good time to try it.  Drove by one 7-11 without realizing it was a 7-11.  Went to the 7-11 I normally visit.  Yes, they were aware of the promotion, and no they were not participating.  The one and driven by earlier was participating and the one on Bradley was also participating. Bradley St. was the closer option at that point.

Just off Route 81.  Truck stop style diner.  Great place to get a substantial meal for less than minimum wage.  This is one place worth bringing for dessert. The pies are legendary.  Chicken parm sandwich $9.29   Pork Barbecue Special $6.99
