  Wow, just wow.  I didn't realize how long it has been since I have touched this blog.  The minimum wage has gone from $9.70 in 2017 to $10.40 in 2018 to  $11.10 in 2019, $11.80 in 2020 to $12.50 in 2021.  There is a push to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $15.  

I can honestly say that I am financially worse of than I was when the wage was $9.70.  

Cost of everything has increased.  Taxes have increased.  Yes, minimum wage has increased, but the non minimum wage has not kept pace.  Health care cost continue to skyrocket.  Add a pandemic and many more people are trying to survive below the poverty level.

   I am very happy to see this place given a new life.  I suspect by the aging gas pumps it was once a general store.  But I could be wrong as it has been a restaurant for as long as I can remember. The ice cream stand is a welcome addition.    They have a good assortment of delicious Gifford Ice Cream.  We have supported the restaurant through the years and it's various iterations.  We plan to go back and try the real food.  It's just hard to drive by and not grab a quick cone.

Park Bros. Bagels and Coffee, Potsdam

   We were close to Potsdam so we decided to swing by the Bagelery and pick up some bagels to go.  I didn't realize it had new owners.  It wasn't bad, just different.  Fancier and more formal. I'd probably still  stop if I was going by, but wouldn't drive out of the way.
