Superior Restaurant, Carthage NY

A small hometown restaurant serving American comfort food.  This is absolutely a place where you can enjoy a substantial meal for under minimum wage per person. I chose the chicken and biscuit special priced at $7.50.  I was served an ample portion which included real mashed potatoes.
The restaurant has a quaint warm feel. It is open Monday through Friday until 7 p.m.. We arrived just around 6:30 and were warmly greeted. We were the only patrons until older gentleman; obviously a regular arrived.  New or old we both received the same great service.  The Waitresses were proud to talk about the history which is prominently displayed around the room. The business opened originally in the late twenties as a candy store before being converted to the restaurant.

The large wooden booths offer comfortable seating.  Small touches like hand lotion in the restroom and a bowl of candy by the front door make it feel like you are visiting a friend.  Seasonal decorations added a festive air.

The staff made sure we knew that if we returned on a Friday and ordered any of the specials we would receive a complimentary sundae.  We might just take them up on that offer.
